The TranSET project: social, ecological and technological transition

At the heart of DiPSA’s Excellence strategy lies the TranSET project (Social, Ecological and Technological Transition). It aims to address the complex and interconnected challenges that affect today’s organisations and societies by promoting responsible research, innovative education, and sustainable collaboration.

TranSET focuses on:

  • social sustainability, inclusion and well-being;

  • ecological transition and environmental accountability;

  • technological innovation and digital ethics in business.

The initiative involves researchers, students, businesses, public institutions, and civil society in the co-design of tools, teaching approaches, and research outputs that support ESG strategies, stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting, and ethical leadership.

TranSET also fosters interdisciplinary exchange across departments and faculties within the University of Bergamo.

Since academic year 2023–2024, the master’s offer has been clarified and differentiated to better serve students with managerial or financial interests:

  • the new MSc in International Management and Marketing

  • the curriculum in Investment, Banking and Finance, part of the interdepartmental MSc in Economics and Finance;

  • the MSc in Accounting, Governance and Sustainability (in English), directly aligned with TranSET, training students in sustainability and corporate governance.

  • gender-balanced representation in research, teaching and governance;

  • inclusive leadership and participatory organisational models;

  • monitoring and evaluation of impact on underrepresented groups.

These values reflect a broader institutional commitment to long-term value creation, well-being, and responsible management.
